Antique Serpentine Flame Mahogany Empire Style Footstool, Needlepoint Ottoman, Foot Rest, Floral Needlepoint Stool
Very nice, Empire style footstool with needlepoint top from the mid 1800's. Beautiful, solid, wood base has a serpentine skirt with flame mahogany veneer. Four, curved, bracket feet complete the base.
Padded, needlepoint top has a classic, floral design with a maroon background.
Stool measures approximately 18" square, and stands 17" tall at the center of the stool.
Footstool is in good, solid condition overall. There are a few small areas of veneer loss that can be seen in above pictures. There is minor cosmetic wear, scuffs, scratches and imperfections consistent with age and previous use. Needlepoint top shows some minor wear with a few missing stitches in one small area. Please refer to all photos and feel free to ask questions if unclear about anything.
Even with flaws, this is a beautiful, antique piece that would be perfect in any room!
