Vintage, Max and Moritz, wooden, pull string, puppet, ornaments made in Germany. Boys are hand painted with movable arms and legs that move up when string is pulled. From the 1970's.
Max and Moritz are characters from a German, rhyming, illustrated story about naughty boys and what happens to them, first published in 1965.
Each measures approximately 2-1/2" across x 3/8" thick. Moritz, with red hair, is about 4" tall. Max with black hair is 3-3/4" tall not including pull string.
Both puppets are in good condition overall with some minor wear, scuffs and dings. Paint intact with bright colors and both are in good working order.
Great addition to any collection of unique, German toys or ornaments.
