Artek Faux Scrimshaw Duck Trinket Box, North American Waterfowl Collection, Polymer Resin
This is a beautiful, duck shaped trinket box made by Artek, Inc. Made in the style of Scrimshaw, the art of carving designs on whale teeth and bones, box is made from a "polymer ivory", to allow continued appreciation for the art of scrimshaw without harming any whales.
Box is signed by artist and has original paper card included.
Marked on tail, "Artek, Inc. / 1984 / Egdel"
Ivory colored duck has etched feathers and details in black. Image inside the box shows two ducks taking off in flight.
Duck measures about 7" long from beak to tail x 3-5/8" wide x about 4" tall to top of head with lid on.
Duck is in good condition. There is a small chip on one of the feathers on the bottom of the box that is hardly noticeable. Please see the last two pictures above, and feel free to notify me if you have any questions. No other chips, breaks or cracks noted.
