Vintage Back Bay Decoy, Hand Carved Small Mallard Drake, B.B.D. Hand Painted Folk Art
This is a beautiful, hand carved and painted, mini, wooden duck decoy. Made by 'Back Bay Decoys' in Virginia Beach by Jac and Patricia Johnson, who now make only limited edition and commission pieces under the name, 'Three Point Design, Inc.'. Making this duck a highly sought after and collectible decoy.
BBD ducks were made to look like primitive, American Folk Art, with imperfections as noted.
This Classic Drake Mallard duck has a green head with a white ring around the neck and a yellow bill. Body is brown, gray and black with blue and white patch.
The bottom is marked, B.B.D.
Duck measures approximately 6-1/2" long from the tip of beak to tip of tail x 2-1/2" wide, and about 3" tall to the top of its head.
Condition is good, with wear consistent with original design. Minor flaws and imperfections present as expected with any handmade item.
