This is a fabulous, vintage reproduction, wall sconce, from Richard D. Scofield of Period Lighting Fixtures, Chester, Connecticut.
Made by hand, this wall sconce features tin beech leaves, painted green, inspired by the Liberty Tree of 1776.
Small, metal plaque behind the candle socket reads, "Period Lighting, Reproduction, Chester, CT".
Sticker on the socket reads, "Underwriters Laboratories, Incandescent Light Fixture, Issue NO. 712,027, E-109086 #2, For Dry Locations Only".
Known for his authentic craftmanship, Richard Scofield hand made his reproduction, historic lighting after studying museum collections of early American lighting. He started his own business in 1974 selling his hand crafted lights including chandeliers, ceiling lights and wall sconces.
Scofield lights are still hand made to order, and can be found in several states in the USA including California, Chicago, New York and Pennsylvania.
An example of this reproduction light sells for around $1500.
Light measures approximately 9" wide x 3" front to back x 12" tall.
Condition is good overall, with expected wear, scuffs and scratches consistent with age and previous use. Wiring appears intact, ready for instillation. There is some minor surface rust around the metal plaque. No major rust or damage. Wonderful patina.
*Light was not tested*
This is a magnificent, museum quality light.
