This is a beautiful, large, black, lacquer vase made in Japan in the 1920's-1940's. Hand painted pink flowers and peacocks with gold accents in traditional metallic paint.
Bottom is marked, "Made in Japan",
Measures approximately 6" wide at widest point, 4-1/2" across top, 4-1/2" across bottom x 12-1/4" tall.
In good condition with some wear noted. There are some scratches and scuffs noted as well as some mild paint loss / fading in a few spots consistent with previous use and age.
Would look wonderful with fresh or dried flowers on an accent table or bookshelf.
