This is a fantastic, handcrafted Church Birdhouse, painted in the traditional style of Pennsylvania Dutch, folk art, Toleware. Birdhouse is hand painted in earth tone colors, yellow / orange with a green roof, and hand painted windows, flowers and accents. Signed by the artist on the bottom and dated, "Lee Walborn H, '95".
Lee Walborn H. (Huntingdon), from near Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, was a teacher and a well known artist in her area. Her mother, Mary Walborn was also an artist, known for her tole painting.
Measures approximately 8-3/4" long from perch to end of roof x 6-1/2" wide x 11-1/2" tall to the top of the steeple.
Birdhouse is well constructed in good, solid condition. There are no cracks or damage noted and has great patina with normal wear consistent with previous use and age.
Great for your garden, patio or deck. Would also make a great, indoor, primitive decor piece.
