Set of 2, antique, porcelain teapot and creamer from A.E. Gray & Co, Hanley, England. Made in 1915 or earlier, based on stamp on the bottom. The teapot is missing it's lid.
Both pieces have lithograph flowers in pink, blue, purple, red and pink with green leaves. Trimmed in gold around top edge, handle and lid.
***In 1960, A.E. Gray & Co was bought by Susan Williams-Ellis and her husband, Euan Cooper-Willis, who later formed Portmeirion Potteries Ltd. ***
Teapot measures about 4-1/2" across top including spout, 5" across top including handle x 4-1/4" tall to top of handle about 4" tall to top of pot. Holds about 10 fluid ounces (300 ml)
Creamer measures approximately 3" wide across top, 4-3/4" from handle to spout x 4-1/2" tall including lid. Holds about 10 fluid ounces (300 ml)
Both creamer and teapot are in very good condition considering age. There is some very mild crazing noted, but no chips, cracks or breaks. Lid is missing from the teapot.
These beautiful, antique pieces would make a nice addition to any fine pottery collection, to use or just display.
