This is truly a rare machine... A Vintage 1946 Espey Model 641 Portable Phonograph / Tube Record Player..
The Espey Model 641 is an early example of an electric phonograph with a record changing mechanism. A stack of records is held in place by two record shelves that can be adjusted for 10" and 12" 78 rpm records. Up to five records can be stacked. There is also a manual feature for playing individual records without changing. Two controls are used for adjusting volume and tone. The case shows some age with small blemishes and some thin scratches but it’s in good solid shape.
This phonograph turntable and record changer are in good working condition. The unit powers on nicely, and the platter turns swiftly without hesitation. The sound arm appears to be in good condition, but I have not been able to get the record to play through the speaker. There is some static and crackling that comes from the speaker, mainly when I turn the volume and / or the tone knob. I feel like this should be an easy fix, perhaps a loose or disconnected wire, but I have decided not to do any further work or investigation of the issue, as I don't want to risk cause a more serious issue or damage
The measurements of the case are 15.5" x 20" x 9.5".. (when closed and latched)
