This is a vintage galvanized milk crate from Martin Century Farms, Lansdale, PA. Both the front and back are marked 3-52 (March, 1952?)
Measures 14.5" long x 11.5" wide x 8.5" tall
Crate is in very good, vintage condition with some rust from age and wear. Not only functional, this sturdy crate is an interesting part of local history.
Martin Century Farms was started in 1922 by August and Frank Martin along with their father. When Lehigh Valley Dairies bought the farm in the 1960's, it was the largest independent dairy in Southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. It continues to be one of the largest suppliers of dairy products on the east coast from Virginia to New York.
