This is a Vintage Ellisco (Model ES-5D) Service Station Test Measure Can , Made by Ellisco, Inc., Philadelphia, Pa.
The story behind this test measure can - This can was recently acquired from a local estate, and the man that sold it to me, shared some of the history relating to this piece. His grandfather owned a gas station that used to be in Port Kennedy, Pa., just to the east of Valley Forge Park. This test can, along with other items, were removed from the building by his father, prior to the building being demolished in 1972.
It measures 11-1/4" across x 19" tall overall. The height to where the throat begins is 14", and the opening at the top is 4" across.
Condition: Good solid condition with some general wear, dings, scuffs, scratches, paint loss, and minor surface rust. There are no deep rust spots, holes, "cancer rust", etc.
