Gerhardi & Co 1635 Teapot, Silverplate, Swirl Pattern, Holloware, Alpacca Silver, Tipping Teapot
This is a vintage Gerhardi & Co, 1635, Silver Plated, Holloware, Teapot. Made in Germany, this pretty, silverplate teapot with attached, hinged lid was made in a swirl pattern. Handle is silverplate with painted wood in the center. This unique teapot has four holders (two on each side) to allow teapot to sit in a warming stand and tilt to pour. Bottom is marked with a star and Gerhardi & Co 1635 and the number "6" below this.
It measures about 8-1/2" from spout to handle x 7-1/4" tall to top of knob on lid. Width across middle measures about 3-3/4" and base measures about 3-3/4". Holds about 6-1/4 cups or 50 ounces (1500 cc).
Teapot is in good, vintage condition with normal, expected wear from use and age. There is a small indent on both sides between the holders, probably where teapot pivoted while in the stand. No major dents or damage noted. Inside has some staining and/or tarnishing. Overall this teapot is in great shape considering its age!
