Vintage Cast Iron 4 Leg Christmas Tree Stand, B & J MFG Springfield Ohio
This is a unique Cast Iron Christmas Tree Stand, made by B & J MFG. of Springfield Ohio. The maker's information is embossed on the legs of the stand. This stand is designed in a way that the top of the legs are forced towards the closed position by the weight of the tree, when it is placed in the center of the stand. There are points at the top of the stand that get forced into the tree which holds it in place. I used a cardboard tube in the photos as an example to show how it works.
It measures about 16" across and 9" tall.. The water cup measures 3-1/2" x 3" deep
This stand is in good pre-owned vintage condition with no cracks or breaks. Some light wear, scuffs, and imperfections are present.
An awesome old cast iron piece that also has endless re-purpose possibilities....
