This is an awesome antique Wooden Mail Sorting Cabinet from a local post office in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. It dates back to the early 1900's, and features 34 Cubbies. It was made from wood and steel "wire rods" which I believe are the bottoms of the mail cubicles, but I am not certain which direction the cabinet was place when in use. This is a one of a kind piece that has endless possibilities.
Overall Cabinet Measurements: 18-1/2" wide, 8-1/4" deep, and 33-1/2" tall. 21 (or half) of the cubbies measure 4-1/2" x 3" x 8" deep, and the other half measure 4-1/2" x 2-3/4" x 8-1/4" deep.
It is in good solid condition with age appropriate wear. There is a crack on the one side that was glued by a previous owner. It is visible upon inspection but it is good and solid. It is shown in the 5th photo. This is an awesome old postal cabinet that is in great shape for its age!
