Very early, Herr's Potato Chips 3 Lb Can. The Herr Potato Chip Company was a small, family owned business that started making potato chips in 1946. In 1952, the company moved to Nottingham, Pennsylvania where the factory continues to make potato chips today.
Nice red, white and blue graphics read, "Herr's Home Style Potato Chips" and "Everyone Likes Them" is printed at the bottom with Herr company name and address.
Measures 12" across, and stands 13" tall.
This old tin is good condition overall with intact and legible graphics and bright colors. There is some rust noted, mostly on the top and bottom rims, the bottom surface of the can and along the seam. There is one small area that has rusted through the bottom as seen in the 8th picture. Minor dents, scratches and scuffs noted, consistent with use and age. Lid is missing.
This is a pretty rare chip can, as I was only able to find one or two others available for sale on the internet.
Overall, a nice, vintage, advertising tin that would compliment any collection.
