Unique, Antique, Wooden, Dovetail, Tool Box from the 1900's - 1930's*. Handmade from an old "Mechling Brothers Chemical Company" crate, with original, crate graphics visible on the bottom of the removable, divided tray. *(Mechling Brothers Chemical Co merged with General Chemical Co in 1938)
Box has beautiful, dovetailed corners and hinged lid, with a handle, that is attached to box with chain. Outside is painted black, inside is unpainted. Tray and inside of lid are painted white.
Box has a half mortise lock with key included.
Measurements: 15-1/2" long, 10-3/4" deep, and 11-3/4" tall.
It has great aged / weathered patina with some cosmetic wear. There are some cracks and small slivers of wood missing at a few spots, as seen in above pictures. Wear and imperfections as expected with vintage, handmade items.
Beautiful, handmade, rustic box that would be the perfect addition to your primitive decor.
