This is a beautiful, Victorian, wooden footstool, with needlepoint top. The wooden stool base features four, turned, wooden legs with four bumps, or "buns". Colorful, needlepoint top shows a symmetrical image of flowers in a pot with two birds, against a black background, in the style of German / PA Dutch folk art. Edge is trimmed with fabric ribbon held in place with upholstery tacks.
I believe the stool is stuffed with horsehair and straw, with a canvas material bottom.
Stool measures approximately 14" long x 11-1/2" wide x 6-1/2" tall.
CONDITION: Wooden Frame is in good, solid condition with some scuffs, scratches and other minor, cosmetic imperfections, as expected from use and age. One leg has scrapes on all four wood bumps, as seen in above picture. Needlepoint top is in very good condition, and shows very little wear. The bottom material has been pulled up on the one corner, allowing the stuffing to be visualized. This could be easily tacked down or replaced if desired. There are a few frayed areas on the fabric, trim ribbon. There is no other notable damage.
This is a gorgeous, antique stool, that would make a lovely addition to any room!
