Very beautiful, handmade, state bird quilt. Vintage quilt, made in 1953, by Anna C. Clemmer, stitched in the center square. Quilt is made up of 49 individual squares, one for each of the 48 states (Alaska and Hawaii did not become states until 1959) and an additional square with the name of the creator and the year made. Each square has a hand stitched bird with the bird name and the abbreviated state name with blue fabric between squares. Border is white with blue edging.
Measures approximately 80" x 83"
Quilt is in good to very good condition with no rips, tears or holes noted. There is some slight staining or discoloration to the back of the quilt, that looks like the kind of discoloration caused by temperature changes or bleeding dye from being kept in storage. It was hard to capture in a photograph, and does not affect the front of the quilt. No other stains noted.
Brighten up any room with this vintage, colorful quilt! Perfect to use or to display.
