This is a fantastic, original, red Fairbanks cast iron balance scale, with the weights and the original scoop. "Fairbanks" is embossed on both sides of the base. This scale may have been used as a candy scale in a general store, or possibly as a hardware scale. Includes all of the weights shown in the photos. This scale is sized perfectly to display, or it could be used for daily use as intended.
CONDITION: Scale, scoop, and weights are all in good solid condition, and in good working order. Scale has awesome patina with the aged red paint. Scuffs, scratches, and general cosmetic wear is present. There is no structural damage or mechanical problems.
Measurements: The overall length of the scale is about 15" with the scoop in place. The round plate that holds the weights measure 5" across. The height to the top of the scoop is 8". The scoop measures 12" x 7-1/2" x 3" tall.
