This is an original, unusually large, handmade miner's lunch box. Made of tin with a leather, strap handle. This was purchased from an Antique Shop in West Virginia in the 1950's, by a friend of our family. It is believed to be circa early 1900's. No identifying marks noted.
Measurements: 14-1/2" long x 7" wide x 11" tall, not including the handle.
Lunch kettle is in good, preowned, vintage condition. Minor dents, scuffs and scratches consistent with use and age. No rust noted.
This awesome lunch box was most likely used by workers in the West Virginia coal mines.
